Stoke Gabriel was as lovely as we remembered it. The Mill Pond is very accessible and Finlay had a great time feeding the ducks & seagulls. At high tide the tide is above the height of the pond and the water flows "backwards" up into the pond - very strange to see
Bantham beach was a nice quiet beach with lots of surfers. Finlay went on a big explore around the rocks, then we drove across the tidal road to Bigbury on the other side of the harbour. When it is windy you can kite on either beach
Finlay's favourite outing was the steam train from Buckfastleigh to Totnes and back. Its beautifully preserved and a lovely trip. Afterwards we went to the Otter Sanctuary next door where we saw the otters being fed, and bought the first of many soft toys on the trip
We popped down to Salcombe for a short trip, ended up having lunch at the wonderful Oyster Shack and then taking the ferry down to South Sands so Finlay could play on the beach
We also had a nice day out in Dartmoor. David found a wonderful Dragon Log, and Finlay had a very exciting time walking & chasing peacocks & ponies. The Postbridge Information Centre had some lovely plastic bug collectors / magnifiers and Finlay thought they were wonderful.
